N95 Grade Medical Protective Masks Market is forecasted to value over USD 1.8 billion by 2027 end and register a CAGR of 12.7 % from the forecast period 2020-2027. The N95 graded masks are designed to block over 95% of test particles that are less than or equal to 0.3 microns. The largest surgical mask manufacturer in the Unites States, Prestige Ameritech, has received a demand of over 1.4 billion masks. CDC has recommended that general public should not purchase the N95 mask as it limits the supply required to be provide to healthcare personnel and to stay indoors instead. But the public seem to pay no heed to the instructions provided by WHO and CDC which has increased the demand for these masks. Impact of COVID-19 on N95 Grade Medical Protective Masks Market: The COVID-19 outbreak has increased the demand for N95 masks, especially for healthcare professionals as this mask is specifically recommended for nurses and doctors. The US FDA recently has initiated an emergency use authorization for the decontamination procedure offered by Advanced Sterilization Products that could result in the sterilization of over 4 million N95 masks every day. The respirators are cleaned using hydrogen peroxide. The STERRAD sterilization machines of ASP are EUA-covered and are currently used in over 6,300 hospitals for sterilizing N95 masks. Over 9,900 machines are currently operating in the United States and each machine are capable of processing over 480 masks every day. Even shoe manufacturers like new balance have initiated in making face masks and they plan of producing over 100,000 face masks weekly from its factories located in Massachusetts and Lawrence. Such initiatives taking by non-healthcare companies has provided lucrative opportunities for the N95 grade medical protective masks market growth.
