These devices typically consist of several critical components, including an adsorption column that contains adsorbent material, which is used to capture and remove the target substances; a blood access point, which is established to connect the patient's bloodstream to the machine; a blood pump which enables circulation of blood through the adsorption column, control system that is an automated system used to monitor and regulate the blood flow rate, adsorption process, and other parameters to ensure safety and efficiency, plasma separator that separates the plasma from the cellular components before adsorption. It is a valuable tool used in therapeutic apheresis, offering targeted treatment options for various medical conditions.
